Dwayne King
Kappa Sigma Alumni, Graduated in 1984
Dwayne is a Corporate Attorney, an SME (Subject Matter Expert) whose area of expertise is drafting/negotiating technology transactions. Dwayne does this for companies who have secured the intellectual property rights to the software and want to monetize the software.
He’s worked on both the sell-side AND the buy-side of the technology world. In essence, Dwayne is a “contracts” attorney who drafts and negotiates software license agreements, hardware license/acquisition agreements, and professional services agreements — regarding the implementation of software/hardware within an environment.
Key Fact: The purchase/use of software has 3 components:
A. Buying the software;
B. Installing the software, and
C. Maintaining the software (installing upgrades when released)
Dwayne’s current job is on the buy-side of the world (Premera Blue Cross), where he drives to get the best terms/cost for items A-C in a SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, or DRaaS model.
