Functions of the KSLZAA Executive Committee

The officers of the Executive Committee (EC) shall be the Grand Master, Grand Procurator, Grand Master of Ceremonies, Grand Scribe and Grand Treasurer. All officers must be eligible member of the KSLZAA to serve on the EC.

Grand Master - GM

The Grand Master shall have the following duties:

  1. He shall preside at meetings of the membership.

  2. He shall preside at meetings of the Executive Committee.

  3. He shall have general superintendence and direction of all other officers of the LZAA and see that their duties are properly performed.

  4. He shall be Ex-officio member of all standing committees and shall have the power and duties usually vested in the office of the Grand Master.

Grand Procurator - GP

The Grand Procurator shall shall:

  1. Shall attend meetings of the Executive Committee, and meetings of members,

  2. He shall have the duty of chairing their perspective committee and such other duties as may, from time to time, be determined by the Executive Committee.

  3. Assumes duty of GM if GM unable.

  4. He shall act as parliamentarian.

Grand Master of Ceremonies - GMC

The Grand Master of Ceremonies shall:

  1. Attend meetings of the Executive Committee, and all meetings of members

  2. Handles the ceremonies and ritual of Kappa Sigma

  3. Oversees Chapter Re-colonization at Virginia Commonwealth University

  4. Oversees Brotherhood Development and Pledge Process.

Grand Scribe - GS

The Grand Scribe shall:

  1. Attend meetings of the Executive Committee, and meetings of members, and will act as a clerk thereof,

  2. He shall record all votes and minutes of all proceedings in a book to be kept for that purpose,

  3. He shall send notices of all meetings to the members of the Executive Committee and shall take reservations for the meetings,

  4. He shall perform all official correspondence from the Executive Committee as may be prescribed by the Executive Committee or the Grand Master,

  5. He shall oversee LZAA branding mission, and

  6. He shall oversee Social/Event Committee

Grand Treasurer - GT

The Grand Treasurer's duties shall be:

  1. Attend meetings of the Executive Committee, and meetings of members, 

  2. He shall submit for the Finance Committee approval of all expenditures of funds raised by the LZAA, proposed capital expenditures (equipment and furniture), by the staff of the agency.

  3. He shall establish accounts and payment systems with established financial institutions.

  4. He shall present a complete and accurate report of the finances raised by the LZAA and special funds at each meeting of the members, or at any other time upon request to the Executive Committee.

  5. It shall be the duty of the Grand Treasurer to assist in direct audits of the funds of the program according to funding source guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles.

  6. He shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Executive Committee or the Grand Master under whose supervision he shall be.
